Annie is available for knitwear design and production for the movie and entertainment world and can do first production samples for other designers. She also sells her knitted designs for day wear, evening wear and accessories to the public.

I had the pleasure of meeting her while working on "Bruno" and wanted to make sure she was not kept a secret. The costume designer, Jason Alper, met Annie by calling a knitting studio in the valley (Stitch Cafe) to see if anyone was interested in working on his designs. Her work includes knitted, crocheted, and sewn garments. Running the gamut from your basic sweater and scarf, to evening wear, accessories and furnishings.

"I use a BROTHER domestic knitting machines, which are computerized for designing if needed, although I prefer to knit plain fabrics that I can drape and embellish...The machines are hand driven but also can be motor driven. Nevertheless, one essentially makes the fabric for each piece that is knitted and it is quite labour intensive for sure"

Annie will soon be working out of the new store, Artstring (opens April 1st), where she will sell her work and be available for consulting and teaching.

The owner, Emile Odeile, describes the multi-faceted shop:
Artstring is a new design house specializing in custom and one-of-a-kind knit clothing, jewelry, and accessories. The space is home to owner Emilie Odeile's conceptual yarn work and host to local artists' and designers' creations, making for an eclectic mix of perspecitves on te wonderful world of design. In the coming months, Artstring will be offering fun and informative classes on everything from machine knitting to freeform design, to yoga, as well as ever revolving line-up of gallery receptions to feature our local artists, so come on by and be a part of this new cross between store, showroom, workshop and gallery.
