Board by Tom Vadakan. Mini badge reads "i heart Kiss"
Bat Skates
When I was growing up my father was a pilot and not around a lot because of work. If I wanted to spend some time with him when he came home from trips, there were a few things I could join in on while he was relaxing. Listening to records (always Beatles and Stones) while he read the paper (he would give me the "funnies"); our found love of Star Wars (at two and a half it was the 1st movie i actually stayed awake for the entire thing and watched while standing on the seat); and watching KISS movies. I never even knew what the hell was going on in them but it was fun hanging out and to mimic whatever reaction he had while watching. One summer before school started my Dad left some back to school supplies on both my sister's and my bed. Hers was a plastic lavender Holly Hobby lunch box and matching notebook set; and mine was all KISS. I didn't even know I liked them that much but when I went to school all the naughty boys tried to talk to me. Years later in junior high I told my friend Jimmy Edge about that and he gave me his personal tin KISS lunch box(with a handwritten note inside in poor writing that quoted the Sex Pistols and PIL) with the promise that I would cherish it. I still have it.
