Looking For a Framer
Something out of the world of Harry Potter is the best way to describe it. Second generation framer, Richard Gibson was referred to me by a good friend. The classic word of mouth tip that does not be disappoint. When I first walked into his shop a few years back, it felt oddly magical. As if years of life, thoughts and memories had been in and out of the doors and were left under the wooden framing tools and piles and piles of collectibles. Instantly Richard and I became friends because he cares enough to get to know you as much as he cares about his work. Most of his clientele are repeat customers and have been coming into the shop since the fifties. Currently located in K-Town, the shop is on the move in the next couple months closer to Sunset Junction. Price wise the work is reasonable for custom framing, but the attention to detail and warmth of service make it a bargain. Not to mention, some of the frame work is antique and the best is going into the back warehouses to search the shelves for options. As soon as you go once, the artisan craftsmanship is addicting. Enjoy!
