The Marcia Berger collection that is currently on sale at both Resurrection and 1stdibs.com is quite a story. Marcia Berger was a text book editor at the time of her death in 2008 and a self described simple girl from Albuquerque. She started collecting avant-garde clothing in the 80s from Yamamoto and Kawakubo and then segued into Margiela. And she didn't just pick up what was on sale. The approximate 1,000 piece accumulation represents the most iconic and one-of-a-kind designs from the now retired designer Martin Margiela. All the pieces were found in the garment bags, untouched with tags still attached. It's fascinating that such a prominent collection is available to purchase and not in a museum.
Available to purchase (mostly size 4 & 6, 38 shoe) until March 31st.
