Say CHEESEmonger

"Witty and irreverent, informative and provocative, Cheesemonger: A Life on the Wedge is the highly readible story of Gordon Edgar's unlikely career as a chessemonger at San Francisco's worker-owned Rainbow Grocery Cooperative. A former punk-rock political activist, Edgar bluffed his way into his cheese job knowing almost nothing, but quickly discovered a whole world of amazing artisan cheese. There he developed a deep understanding and respect for the styles, producers, animals, and techniques that go into making great cheese." chelseagreen.com

The cover photo was taken by a friend Myleen Hollero who is passionate about her work. The two came to know each other while briefly sharing a flat in San Francisco.

"It's funny we barely saw each other we were working so much - he on his book and me on other projects. Actually...the longest time we've spent in the same together is when we did the shoot for the cover!" (There always a story like this from people living in SF.)

Myleen's work is beautiful and worth keeping in mind for diverse projects from editorial to event coverage, amongst other things.
I asked Myleen if she has favorite inspirational books and loved her response,
"certain authors trigger photographic jujus in me- especially haruki murakami, joan didion...cometbus."
Any other bio info- "i like cats. A LOT."
