"COLLECTIVE CONVERSATION ABOUT EQUALITY"

or as I called yesterday "what the hell is the happening on vine?

Yosi Sargant gives a hoot about Prop. 8 and more importantly, equality.

In his third art show, MANIFEST EQUALITY, Sargant is in LA to focus on Proposition 8, which passed in 2008 and prohibits marriage between homosexual partners in California.
The pop-up art show (started wednesday-ends Sunday) is timed to coincide with the Oscars in the hopes to be as beneficial as possible with so much publicity in the air.

Involved in the project are hundreds of prominent and emerging artists too great to pick out just a few names.
Let's just say Yosi Sergant was the publicist behind Shepard Fairey's Obama Hope Poster.

"Los Angeles is one of the epicenters of creativity in the world. And with the Academy Awards approaching, it seemed like an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the heightened energy and attention and start a conversation of substance." yosi sergant

"Artists have the ability to take complex issues and distill them down into powerful visual language." yosi sergant

Yosi- you said a mouthful.

** Currently underway in California, the court case Perry v Schwarzenegger, is challenging the constitutional validity of California Proposition 8 (the California Marriage Protection Act). Supporters of Equal Rights are fighting to strike down Proposition 8 as unconstitutional. The case is widely regarded as a landmark case that will be appealed to the Supreme Court.
